FEATURED ARTISTS

ADAM ADHIYATMA & ILA

(musician)
Adam Adhiyatma is a guitarist, clarinetist, composer and improviser from Singapore. He started in rock and jazz bands and now is more interested in noise, but those things are always close by.
Adam is interested in the formal and mystical boundaries of sound. Mystical: phenomenological or experiential rather than supernatural. Some of his favorite music combines clarity and detachment with hallucinatory intensity. He also likes to think about voices; multiple voices issuing from the same body, hydras, and the ensuing confusion, and the ensuing ecstasy.
A dedicated student of the discipline of musical improvisation, he sees it, at different times, as a form of procedural music,  sound meditation, healing, social corrective or catharsis.
In addition to a half-baritone guitar, he plays (in decreasing order of skill) electric bass, bass clarinet, Bb clarinet, alto clarinet, piano, and am an enthusiastic programmer in several audio languages. He has written and premiered works for chamber ensembles, solo guitar and electronics, jazz and free improvisation ensembles, and performed with Pauline Oliveros, Marilyn Crispell, Adam Mirza, Ingrid Lee, Kevin Robinson, John Niekrasz and Bani Haykal in Oakland, New York City, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Orlando, Florida.
Adam is currently an MFA student in music performance at Mills College, Oakland CA.

Harry Chew is a documentary film maker (who does other video stuff…) whose passion is to see the world and collect stories along the way.  He has developed a distinct and unique way of making documentaries which he calls Supertramp Film Making, where one can create an entire film (directing, filming, editing, sound, etc) on his own, from his backpack while manoeuvring spontaneously along with the documentary subjects.  He loves documentaries for its serendipitous nature, and the art of capturing moments and emotions in their pure forms.  He also enjoys the journeys and magical moments that documentaries take him to.
He has travelled and filmed projects in Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Laos, Malaysia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United States and Vietnam so far; and intends to keep exploring new places and connecting with people around the world.
